The Government is proposing changes to the Healthy Futures (Pae Ora) Act. These changes will affect Māori decision-making in health, reduce Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments and change equity rules that help protect vulnerable communities.

We are the Iwi Māori Partnership Board for the Mid-Central District, representing the voices and health needs of 44,000 Māori in Manawatū, Palmerston North, Horowhenua, Tararua and Ōtaki. Since 2022 we have worked alongside our community to improve health outcomes, commissioning research, advising government and sharing insights so health providers can deliver better care for everyone.

We oppose the Healthy Futures (Pae Ora) Amendment Bill and have made our submission. You can read our submission here.

We encourage you to submit your opposition to the Bill. It can be as simple as “I oppose this bill.”
